Our impact
The Advanced Plant Growth Centre exists to harness the entrepreneurial spirit within the agriculture, food and drink sectors and enhance the collective capability and innovation. Our unique state-of-the-art facilities combine the best technological and digital solutions with world-recognised plant science to enhance food and crop security for the future and to mitigate against the impacts of climate change.
We are using the transformational investment in research infrastructure to expand the role UK-based science can play in the global Agriculture 4.0 ecosystem, enhancing controlled environment, precision agriculture and phenotyping.
Our work offers the UK a clear role to lead the crop science agenda in a rapidly expanding commercial market, expected to be worth $23 billion by 2025.
